Office of English Language Acquisition, Language Enhancement & Academic Achievement for Limited English Proficient Students (OELA)

Link: http://www.ncela.gwu.edu/oela/index.htm

Now that programs for English language learners are funded out of Title III of the No Child Left Behind Act, virtually all of the existing programs for language minority students are no longer active. This site should be periodically checked for new programs as they are developed. OELA is the new name for the office long known as OBELMA, or the Office of Bilingual Education & Minority Languages Affairs. Fortunately, a great deal of archived information and research may be still found on the original OBELMA site at http://www.ncela.gwu.edu/obemla/.
