As mentioned above, the taxonomy of the Equity Portal was based on the excellent work done by the Eisenhower National Clearinghouse. Their site deserves another mention here, and particularly this page of a fantastic collection of self-assessment on equity. NICI equity staff has often used the Equitable School Walk, first developed by Ray Rose (see Equity providers, below) at the New England Center for Equity Assistance (now the EAC at Brown.) The Equitable School Walk as a starting point for schools who wish to improve their learning climate.
